Default A/C not blowing cold

Has anyone had a problem with their A/C not blowing cold? I put on my S/C last summer and it was working fine but now the clutch is not even engaging. I had to bend and move around some lines when I installed the blower. My brother in law said that if it's low on refrigerant that there is a sensor that will keep the clutch from engaging but I am also going to check the fuse tomorrow. Any ideas?

bending the line should not hurt it so long as it didn't break... i have had to do that on cars from time to time.

You need to check the state of charge before you make any other assumptions, but yeah check the fuse for the heck of it

check the fuse, and get a r-134a recharge :P prefereably take it to someone qualified, as r-134a is highly toxic :P

Yeah my brother-in-law is a mechanic and has the gauge to check it so I'll have him check to see if it's out of refrigerant. Thanks.

if you pull it in the shop and it's around 70-80 degrees, the static pressure on each side should read about 70-90 psi... any less than that and you are low on refridgerant! if it's pretty close to ambient temp, your charge is good and you need to look at wiring

Im 99% sure that if it's low on refrigerant that there is a sensor that will keep the clutch from engaging. That is what happened to my ranger. You probably have a leak somewhere.

when I put my CAI in I f'd up and put a gash in the AC line and the thing blew nothing but heat untill it was fixed...that could have happened as well, espessially if the SC mounts close to the line... that's just my experience with this problem
