Default RIP OFF?

Hey guys, i had a few questions that hopefully some of you can give ur opinions on. I called one of the local Magic Shops (california) that does exhaust work and like springs, and the manager spoke to me and quoted me a $350 install on Eibachs if i bring them to him, and also $90 allignment. $450 total for spring install???

I also need some advice. I'm planning on making my car full bolt ons + gears/cams, and i need to have aa California legal exhaust set up. I can do the midpipe and catback in my driveway, so i dont care if the mid isnt catted for emissions because i can switch it out, but my question is if it is to much of a bitch to do headers in the driveway/ switch em out? I know shorties pretty much suck, so do you guys think i should stay stock headers? suggestions would really help me out.

the headers will be a pain i live cali too, you should just get shorties for a little hp and the sound. unless you want to spend 5-10 hours every 2 years to change

get a new k-member, headers would no longer be a "major" pain.

If the car is like the older models you dont even need a spring compressor.... use jackstands on the frame an take the weight totally off the suspension, an the springs should simply drop out...

You should call all of the LT companys and see if they have any that are legal in cali. The "exemption" or whatever parts are legal in cali.

what a pain in the *** though, dammed california.

i talked to the manager of the exhaust shop, he said that Cali law is that you are allowed aftermarket parts, they just cant change the configuration of the stock system. i.e. cats must stay in stock location, midpipe cant be shortened, etc... THis pretty much means that any headers that arent shorties are illegal. I heard this from another exhaust shop thats pretty well known too. It sucks, i know. Anyways, shorties or just stay stock headers? ive heard alot of exhaust combos, and i think im gonna get the slp o/r x and LM II. SLP also says that i can shorten the xpipe if i ever decided to get their LTs.
