Default Speedo change?

I'm switching from stock gears to 4.10's. Will I need to do something with the speedo? Anything else ?

speedo should be fine, the only reason that would read off is if you change tire sizes.

DO WHAT???????

This statement is completely wrong. ANY gear change will throw the speedometer off. Where the heck did you get the idea it wouldnt change the speedo?????

The 2000s an up will require either a computer reflash or one of the little boxes you can buy for like 75 bucks. Not only does it throw off the speedo, but the odometer as well.

yea dude, got an '01 GT and put 4.10s and my speedo and rpms are off.. but it helps when i get pulled over tho to tell them it has gears and i gotta switch back, and i keep the box in the trunk there is the new predator flash tuner is supposed to be pretty wild for the stangs, aside from tuning, it will compensate speedo and rpm when altering gears and or tire sizes.
