Default Handling Issues

I know most people on here go for all engine mods but I plan to autocross in the near future and will need to keep up with cars such as Evos, Stis, S2000s, and Lotus Elises. I think I am pretty much set in the engine department but am wondering what I can do to narrow the gap on the cars listed above. Is it possible to outhandle these cars in a stang?

A bud of mine with an '04 GT does competition like that and has his car handling like a go-kart. I will get his list of mods for ya, if you need or want it.

Drop the suspension and make it harder, and those cars u mentioned are at least 400lbs less than the Stang so if u have the cash i suggest u get some carbon fiber panels or some type of weight reduction
