ORIGINAL: 2000GT4.6

everyone is just putting down insane numbers lately. I dunno if there has been just that much of an improvement in tuning in the last year or two, or if they are starting to setup the dynos different.

I know that 1-2 years ago the average full boltons GT was putting down somewhere aroudn 260-265 on a dynojet with a good tune.

Hell, on a dynojet I only put down 280 WHP (****ty tune) with full boltons and camshafts, and I was making like 256 before that (stock tune). i would think that would be around 240 on a mustang dyno. (the 256)

I think it is safe to say that my car is not a factory dog with the numbers I am putting down now. There just seems to have been a breakthru in tuning for the 2v cars lately.

I will be very interested to see what you run in the 1/4. That is the only really consistant dyno.
+1. I agree completely. I would love to see what I can run to. I will post the #'s in a couple of weeks when I finally get to the track. I am not expecting good numbers because I am no pro.

Point being is that 265~ WHP would have been GREAT from a accurate dyno and a car with 3.73s and full boltons a year ago. now, you are putting that down on a mustang dyno.

I am ALMOST curious enough about what you would dyno on a dynojet to send ya the 50 bucks to go get a run.

Did they tell you how far off the mustang dyno was from the dynojet? I know that the more power you make the farther off it is, but I don't know how far off it is supposed to be for your power level.

Hell, i am starting to think the only dynos to use are mustang dynos. they all seem to read about the same, unlike dynojets. it is very hard to compare cars though on any two differen't dynos.

I wish you guys could see the images better. The pictures didn't work as well as I thought. I did put down 258 though. I am gonna scan them in at work on Monday and post them. I had some funny crap happen w/ the A/F on the third run. He didn't put the first run on their because runs 1 and 2 were exactly the same (well very close) But the A/F just jumped up at about 5100, what the heck happened their, any ideas anyone. The HP curve didn't change a bit but the A/F jumped up high as crap. Faulty wideband sesor maybe?

No way the A/f acutally did that, musta been an error on the dyno.

one thing I do notice is that I was making like 20 more FT/Lbs than you when I was at full boltons.

Strange. you would think that even on a mustang dyno if you dynoed less RWHP then you would dyno less RWTQ.

I dunno wtf to think now, except that maybe dynos are all bs.

I think I am gonna go get dynoed on a dynojet and teh local dyno dynamics so we have a comparason of all 3.

Thats what I thought too. There is no freakin way the A/F could jump that high. I think my engine would have blown the f up. But, anyway, does anyone think it could be because I have an o/r pipe maybe? ****, I don;t know what would have caused that to happen. My buddy w/ the Z28 went right after me and his A/F was a flat 13.8 every time. It looked great.

I had my car air/fuel tuned at Livernoise Racing in Detroit last Thursday with the SCT software on a dyno jet. IM dissapointed that I too have everybolt on there is , other than a electric water pump, and I only dyno at 255.6 RHP and 289.8 Torque. What I will say
is the car runs twice as good as it did with the predator tune, especally in low and midrange. They tuned at part throttle as well as WOT and the car runs wicked. It's hard to beleieve it's 255.6 RHP, it just seems to low w/ all the boltons I have and the way the car runs now. I thought Id be in the 270-280 range. It proves a point that these bolt on ads are not even close to advertising. Im running a pretty close to perfect air/fuel tune, It doen't seem Ill ever see 300 even with a stage 1 cam. I know a stag 1 cam will not pick/up 45 hp. SO how do these people in this forum claim they do ???? The tune was downloaded on a SCT programmer and flash to my car. Anyone need a predator ?????

What kind of dyno????

If this was a mustang dyno, these numbers are what I would expect from a boltons GT.

I know the dynojet I dynoed on when I was doing boltons seemed to be right in the middle so far as dynos go, and I put down 280 WHP with stage 2 cams and full boltons, and a ****ty tune.

Its all in the tune. On a dynojet you should see between 260 and 270 WHP, the 270 being almost impossible, on a accurate dyno of course.

I have seen at least 2 cars making 299~ WHP with cams and boltons.
