Have a frined who is looking at picking up a used 97 GT. We went and looked at it yesterday and I even took it for a ride. At idle there is an audible knocking sound. Rather loud at that. So we are listening to see what it could be. It was at it's loudest when I croutched down next to the passenger side front wheel. I had him turn the wheel away from me and boy it was loud. So he pushes the clutch in and it stops.....hmmm. So what could it be that is making this sound? Could it be the throwout bearing? I also noticed when driving his that the clutch let out way high in the pedal travel, could his clutch be on its' way out as well? I just about crapped my pants when I tried to pull out of the parking lot. Must have seemed like some kind of rookie. I was so used to my cllutch letting out much lower. TIA
