Im thinking it stands for Wheels Suspension and 6 for the hurst 6 speed it comes with. What do you guys think? Answer is appreciated.

Not sure what the WS stands for, but the 6 doesn't mean a 6-speed, because the WS6 package has been around since the 70's and they had 4-speed manuals or an automatic back then. Also Hurst is the shifter company, not the transmission. If I'm not mistaken the new WS6 models have a Tremec T56 6-speed, same as the 6-speed Cobras.

Well I wonder what it means. I know what the hurst is and I know the difference between it and the tranny. I was just trying to throw an "educated" guess out there.

not sure about the WS6, but the 6 speed is a T56, but different than the cobras, as of course they are two different motors and would have 2 different bell housings on the tranny.

Yeah the bellhousing may be different, but the guts are the same.

WS6 doesn’t stand for anything other then GM’s option package reference. First offered I believe in ‘78’ as handling package up grade. Just numbers on the fact sheet.

ok... I just thought maybe it meant something because its an upgrade in wheels and suspension.
