I dont think I'd pay more than 16k for an 01 cobra. If your planning on throwing down that much money just look into an 03/04 cobra

+1

And my 2cents.... You can prob build your GT to perform even better with the amount of extra money to be put down. Minus the 2 extra cams, 10 grand can get you a procharger and a engine rebuild from DSS racing to handel plenty of more horsepower then your fuel pump/tank can handel, and your brakes and suspension will have to go through a rebuild from all that power!. I'm talking like with that money.... man.... 450 or so rwhp before your gonnna have to look at other places then under your hood to unlock pony potential.

ok, had 5000 miloes on it, only had one owner. Gonna trade in my GT for 9 and they want me to pay another 11, but im going to try and jew them down to 10. Anyways, what im wondering is, is the 0-60 only 5.5? i read that somewhere, also, i know that the engine is all forged internals, so how much horse's could i strap on before needed to build the engine more then it already is? Thanks
the 99/01s are pretty much the same as the machs, so they are low 13 second cars, no the internals are not forged, they have the same pos t-3650 tranny but with an irs

The only thing about building a GT is when you go to sell it its still a GT. Cobra will hold value better because of production numbers.

wow, 20k for an 01? Man, you can find something cheaper elsewhere.. an 03/04 is a MUCH better investment.. you can find them in the low 20's with less then 50,000 miles pretty easily. I know the mileage is low as hell.. but still.. ive seen 99's go for 12 with higher mileage.. they hold their value better then a GT, but not all that much better.

The 99/01 is slower then the 03/04 5 speed mach. The IRS weighs more and is harder to launch, and the mach has steeper gearing in the rear. The 99/01 will pull a mid 13 at best.. usualy higher 13's. Machs can pull the occasinal low 13.

THe motor on the 99/01 is an aluminium block (not a forged aluminum block like the 96-98, which have the teksid blocks that'll take more that you can put in them normaly). They DO have a forged crank (since they rev to around 7k, they had to have it). Pistons and connecting rods are not forged.
