My best friend has a 03 Mach 1 and this other guy in town has a Saleen s281 non supercharged. He thinks his Saleen is some hot stuff. One night in town we finally got the 2 lined up the mach 1 blistered the Saleen. Now the guy in the Saleen claims that he was not on the gas I think he is just a pwsse. Now he want my friend to go with him to the drag strip and race cause don't have enough ***** to race again in town. Does any one know all the specs and what should beat who in the race. I would put my money on the Mach.</FONT></P>

The Mach should win,but I don't know if it would be the same story with the supercharged version of the Saleen.

well the mach has 305 hp and the saleen non-supercharged has 285...same as the GT

yes, the gt has 260, the mach 1 has 305, and the new saleens have 290, actually. who should beat who will probably be determined by what kind of transmission you have. auto vs. 5-speed, i would put money on the 5-speed. 15 horsepower isn't going to make much of a difference. If you drove both, 15 horses isn't enough to be able to feel the difference. Driver experience should also determine the outcome.Oh, and by the way,sorry, but I don't blame the guy for wanting to take them to the strip.I doubt the reason he won't race on the streetis because he doesn't have any *****, it's probably because he's using his head and doesn't want his license taken away, or end up in an early grave.Please, save it for the strip. Go pay your 10 dollars, and do it all legally, as many times as you want. Good luck!

The Mach 1 is "rated" at 305hp and 320tq by Ford. It has been proven by numerous dyno tests, mine included,to be severely underrated! Actual dyno numbers are coming out in the 325-340hp range. A non-supercharged 2V would have a hard time just keeping up with the Mach 1, let alone beating one. I have a couple of friends, one with an 03 Cobra vert, the other with a Roush Stage 3, and those cars are a dead match for each other, and while I can't beat either one, they can't walk away from me either!</P>

15 hp would make a diff. if they were both 5 speeds I would go with the mach 1..

gears my friends, gears. depending on what gear ratio the saleen's got in it will determine the outcome. they come in different gears(saleens) depending on options.
