cams and springs, and a new tune

edit: If you don't have exhaust already done, do it.

If you install it yourself exhaust should run between 1200 and 1500 for moderatly priced stuff. Cams are aroudn 600 bucks, springs around 200, and a new tune kinda depends on when and where.

I would say full exhaust and suspension. If you already have the exhaust I would go for saving some for a short block and suspension. You can have all the power in the world but if you can't get it to the ground it's use less.

You really just need to get a powerpipe and start making 9-10 PSI, and get that tune redone. The stock shortblock is good to 440~ WHP, so 420 or so is pretty safe. Hell, I am running 415~ with no intercooler.

I think you will have a hard time making 415-420 though on a accurate dynojet. I would look into some good blower cams or maybe the shortblock. my next major upgrade will be a VT shortblock and some custom blower cams from MPH.

The only problem with the short block is the price, and that you have to start upgrading other things to handle the power (fuel pump/injectors, maybe BOV, MAF) and that can start to get pretty expensive.
