Default X pipe with stock mufflers?

I have been offered an O/R X pipe for $100. Now if I get it...I would have to wait to put the high flow mufflers on that I would want to eventually have. Would it be worthwhile to go ahead and get it and have it put on with my otherwise stock exhaust-without cats anyway? Or should I just wait and spend my $$ elsewhere?

What kind of pipe? Anyways I'd get it and put it on the shelf for when you run across a good catback

Get it. The midpipe will give you more gains than a catback system will.

+1

as long as it is a regular (aka non shortie) midpipe it will bolt right up to your stock exhaust manifolds and catback, and make more power than a catback ever will.

it is said that the midpipe is the most restrictive part of the exhaust system. Go ahead and slap 'er on, you'll be impressed with the gains.

Good to know...if I have everyone's vote I'll go ahead and grab it up if I can. That is...if it will bolt up to stock headers. The seller did tell me that I would need O2 extenders. Somebody at Stlmustangs.com also said that I would need "Mil" eliminators to keep my check/service engine light from coming on. Does that sound right? Is that all I would need before taking the pipe to the shop?
