i remember last year when i installed mine, big big improvement. now i dont even nottice, sorta grew used to smooth shifting. its a hell of a shifter. if it feels different from when you first got it, its probably just like i said and you got used to it. im sure its still as short and tight as it was from day one, probably smoother too.

mine does not feel that short anymore, but drive a mustang with the stock shifter and it will feel like you are shifting mashed-potatoes.
