i have 410s and over 400, i also have upr/lwr ca's and nittos. when they are warm i can launch fairly well and i just got my blower on. I am not looking to 1/4 it, so a good launch is fine we me. if you are talking dra g racing, maybe a taller gear would be better, other than that, learn how to drive your car instaed of complian about it.

Wow, i was almost set on getting the 3.73's. But if you guys can hook up pretty well, maybe i should go 4.10's also. I probably go to the track maybe 5 times a year. So mostly street driving. I already have MM LCA's on the car. As long as its just re learning how to drive with 4.10s and a blower is cool with me. I just didnt want to sit there and go up in a cloud of smoke looking cool but losing races.

its not just about hook....what RPM will you be turning with that hp in 4th when you hit the line in 1/4 with 4.10s? you might need to let off to save your motor lol Even if you street race it.....you'll be using more of 4th than 3rd to get to higher mph.

I did the gear calc. and according to my tire size, with 4.10's at 6K rpms i would be at 113.7 mph and with 3.73's at 6K i would be at 125.0 mph. Yeah, if i ever take it to the track with a supercharger, i would be letting off or shifting into 5th with 4.10's. But with 3.73's, i would be right at the top of 4th and finishing the 1320. I guess thats something to think about also because i'm sure with a s/c its easy to trap in the 120's (i think). I know i could go with a taller tire at the track, but I never have that kind of cash laying around to have extra sets of tires/wheels and i'm too lazy to switch out street tires.

The speed/gear thing is something to think about on the street too. I know my car falls off HARD when I get it in 5th gear compared to 4th. I like having that full 120 MPH in 4th gear.

And its not a matter of learning how to drive. With my 275 nittos at like 18-20 PSI on the street I smoke them no matter how easy you try to get into it, if you go WOT.

2nd usually isn't TOO much of a problem. Drive it for awhile, and a hard shift into 2nd will only result in a very good sratch and then that "im barely getting traction" squeaking sound all the way thru the gear.

I dunno, I never had a problem with my 3.73s even when the car was N/A. Everyone seem to want so much gear, but 3.73s were just right for me.

Im not a 4.6 owner but I do drive a SC car with over 400hp. Its a pain in the *** trying to keep traction with 3.73 I count imagine what 4.10s will do for traction. I say go with 3.90s if u cant decide.
