Anybody have a centri S/C and 4.10's?
Ok, i got lucky and get a chance with a do over for my gears for free. Long story short, Got 2 sets of Motive 3.90's installed and they both whined. Now i get a redo for free and can pick any gear i want.
SO... my future plans include a Centri supercharger (either vortech or procharger), but that will probably be between 6-12 months away. I was thinking going 4.10's so i have the fun factor now, but i dont want to be screwed with NO traction once i get my S/C. I want usable power, not just looking cool by being able to spin my tires through the first 3 gears while getting my *** owned by some POS ricer.
Does anybody have 4.10's with a centri S/C and how do you feel about it? Do you love it or wish you had 3.73's?

I run nittos and until I get them heated up they blow off like crazy. It depends on how you are gonna set the car up though.
On a otherwise stock car making 360~ whp it would probably be ok to run 4.10s. Anything over 400 WHP and I would think 3.73s are the way to go.

yeah he said that, but I don't see how the heck you can get traction in 1st or even 2nd with the 4.10s and even nitto drag radials.

I'm in the process of getting a SC right now and I have 4.10s.. So, I can't speak for certain but I plan on spending some money to get a good, wide, sticky drag radial to help plant the power... I'm sure 1st will be tricky but once the car is rolling I think 2nd should be ok.. I know 1st gear is important but if you can plant the power in 2nd & 3rd I think you can win most races.. Not to mention 70% of races these days are from a roll so I'd rather have the 4.10s..

I have a vortech v1, full bolt ons and 4.10 with 315 nittos and my i dead hook on the street all the time with a dual friction clutch. As long as you have good tire you'll be fine, and Nitto's are great tires, I've dumped mine in the rain a couple of times and they don't spin that bad in first or second, now if you slam second in the rain, or third.....thats a different story....
