dude, the 4.6 4v responds WAY better to boost than a 302.

Nope... in fact the '89 5.0 was sayed to be the strongest 5.0 GT they made at the time of the Fox bodies. Cobra's werent **** till the '03. I personally dont know why anyone would waste their money on a '94 to a '98 unless they have a lot of money to get it running! Just my opinion though.

I just looked this up, you can expect from 245-255rwhp from a 1997 Cobra.

About the 1994, according to said dyno site, all these mods on a '94 Cobra, "e-303 cam - trickflo twisted wedge heads 2.02/1.60 valves - 1.6:1 rockers - ford gt-40 lower intake - kenne bell blowzilla 2.2l blower w/8psi pully - kenne bell switch chip - 77mm maf - 75mm throttle body - msd 6btm - 36lb injectors - 255lph fuel pump - mac cold air induction - mac shorty headers - mac onroad h-pipe - mac catback exhaust - dss 306 pro bullit engine - " produced 292rwhp.

I would say they aren't that stout outta the factory.
Actually 94-95 Cobra's were rated at 240 flywheel HP. They actually were under rated. I mean a different upper and lower intake and heads making only 25-35HP difference at the flywheel? Riiiiggghhttt. Most 94-95 Cobra's I've seen make around 260-270@ the flywheel. 292rwhp with all that is sad to be honest and can't be right. The heads on the 94-95s were the worst part of the those years 5.0s. I'm telling you those numbers are WAYYYY off.

100th96Cobra was making with a 8lb pulley on a Vortech S trim, Long tubes, O/R X (Or was it H Matt?), Flowmasters, Aftercooler and water injection around 460+rwhp.

He had a '96 that wasn't anywhere near stock. Besides, I've always had a hard time believing he made more hp on his '96 than the '03 Cobra's do with basically the same mods. We went round after round when he first joined the forum. To put it simply, Cobra's weren't **** til '03, as I already stated. I've raced a '98 and '95 Cobra with my TA. Both guys driving were known by me and most of the racers around town. Both had full exhaust. I raced them both from a roll, it was like racing a stock 5.0. I killed them both. It may have been different form a dig, but I doubt it. None of the Cobra's have ever impressed me, minus said '03.

His car only had the mods I've listed. I live 15-20 minutes away from him and have ridden in the car plenty of times. From what I know etc it had stock injectors etc. SN95 Cobra's are very capable if you have someone who knows how to do it. 03 Cobra's are impressive too but don't doubt the SN95s. Only problem with them is the lack of traction. Matt's dyno chart just climbed.

"I've always had a hard time believing he made more hp on his '96 than the '03 Cobra's do with basically the same mods"

Believe it man. I saw it with my own eyes. I have another friend who with a T Trim and around 8lbs should easily be at 440rwhp with other basic bolt ons. He also is building up a turbo 5.4 for NMRA.

Matt before water injection and aftercooler was doing 432rwhp. I have seen the dyno plenty of times. I don't think his car was really put on a dyno and tuned ever.

You can believe it or not but I have seen it with my eyes plenty of times LT1.

5.0's weak point is the heads mostly. NA 5.0s and 4.6L Cobra's aren't **** compared to putting a blower and new heads on aa 5.0 or slapping a blower on a 4.6 4Ver and opening it up. Matt's car with traction was EASILY a 11.5-11.7 second car.

Damn man cobras werent **** until 03? Its the the same motor, just a little stronger and with a blower....and bout my old cobra, we did go round after round, and if you still dont beleive me, its fine, i dont even have the car anymore. but it did have an estimated 460rwhp. the car dynoed 435 at the year one bristol bash, while running hotter than hell (electric fan was broke), and was before aftercooler, h20 injection, and full synthetic swap. and lt1, my car had higher compression, and a better blower than stock 03s...thats how I so easily attained my #'s. its not like i was the only guy doing it, there are hundreds out there that would give you almost the same hp #'s on there blown 4v's. And Im sure digital would tell you the story about how i beat the blue bpu 03 several times from a roll

edit*steve will be over 500rwhp with the t trim brandon, 8psi from his t is alot more than 8 psi from an s
