my car shifts very very hard for an auto and i don't think it could get much better. it actually shifts too hard into second and hits the rev limiter and bangs it and this is with it in drive not manually shifting. before it use to take awile to shift gears like if it was slowly processing or something.

Oh, and Running a 12.5 might not be the issue here??

A shift kit is more of a Permanent alteration done to your Tranny's valving, to make it shift for optimum WOT Performance.

A Re-Programmer can be flashed, and re-flashed, and re-flashed w/ new Shift points, to Optimize All shifting, All the time...

i chirp tires at 3,000 rpm in an auto, it feels awesome, with only the mods below.

If you haven't seen my other posts, I just got my car last week. It is an 02 GT auto, 100% stock as far as I know. Its not every time, but if I romp on it I get a chirp going into second. When I stomp on it, it shifts pretty firmly anyway. Is this unheard of, or is it possible my car already has a tune or shift kit, or anything that I don't know about? Also, not to *****, but I have read that you can use a tuner to turn traction control off, mine stays off all of the time, unless I turn it on(?) Kinda weird, but this is my first 'Stang.

The problem w/ adding more fluid to your trans is that you can get TOO much pressure, and blow seals left and right, along w/ burn out the pumps, and even get the tranny to a point where it WON'T shift... Good luck w/ that...

But, a newer car's Tranny should shift fairly firm. I remember my 00 shifting pretty awesome when I first got it, but add a few burnouts, some dumbass driving, and about 80k miles, and it just started to let go.. It still drove and shifted fine, it just slipped when you applied some power..
