I'm going to go tell all my Honda buddies that nitrous is bad and it'll blow up their motors real quick now.

No, not really...and if those morons blow their motors it's cause they don't know the meaning of the word TUNE.

Anyway, if you wanna go quick just buy a Vette...or an 03 Cobra to start with.

OK now, without offending anybody. Can some one tell me where I could find a performance rebuild package that comes complete for about two grand. And I am wondering if it is possible to build my 96 GT up to 350-400 Hp through internals?

You'd be hard pressed to get those kind of numbers out of a 281 with just internals, but it POSSIBLY could be done. You would definitely need some really high flowing PI heads and some hot cams, and assuming you plan to stay N/A, you could raise the compression ratio with flat top pistons or dome pistons, provided you have enough valve clearance. If that wouldn't get you there, which I don't think it would, you could buy a stroker kit, but they're pretty pricey at about $3,000. If you want big numbers from a 281, you're much better off with bolt-ons and a power adder.

They recently had a mustang in 5.0 mustang that was making 350 or so HP N/A. Wasn't even really maxed out yet. They were talking close to 375-400 RWHP after the next set of mods (I beileve a different camshaft and more head work).

Also, they had a nice artical on the PI headswap. What they found was the worst part of the stocker setup was the intake. A shop (if you acutally interested I can get the name, its a friends mag) is now selling kits to make a PI intake bolt on to non pi heads.

They found with some work to the head they were able to make em flow almost as well as the 99+s. In fact the dyno showed it made more power down low. (vs stock pi heads).

Just a thought. Not sure of the price difference here, but I bet it would be nearly the same/cheaper for the headwork. And the longer they do this, the more the price will go down.
