h-pipe to x-pipe worth the swap
i've got MAC off-road h-pipes on my 97 gt, but emissions laws in austin are kickin my ***.... contemplating switching to bassani x-pipes with cats.
worth the money and hassle to swap?

Are you going to switch anyway though? If he is planning on getting a new set to conform to emmisions laws, he will have to buy one or the other anyway. If you are going to do this, no reason not to go x.
However if you are just planning on either keeping what you got or going with the x, I agree with dan. Not to mention I dont think you will make more power with a catted X vs a cattless H.

i can get around the laws.... (get it inspected elsewhere) but i have just read that theres quite a bit more power with xs rather than hs... just squeezin all the power i can without superchargers or anything REAL expensive

I would say it is not worth it then. You arnt going to see a major difference between an X and an H. If you had the choice of either I would definatly say x, but as you already have a high performance H it wouldnt be worth it.
Not to mention as I said, a cattless H should be better or the same as a catted X

ohhhh and another thing... ive had trouble with my pipe rattling as it passes under the friver's side floor panel... ghetto fixed it a couple times just pulling it away and that works for a week or 2 but back to rattling soon enough.
possible fixes... motor mounts ( rattles with more throttle pressure), or just get the pipe rebent for more clearance

Well it rattles, cuz it's a MAC POS, & as for the catted Bassani X...the only benefit you can get from buying one is that you can remove those cats anytime u get ready, cuz u'll also get sentcat-eliminator pipes. If you are going w/another brand, save ur money.

I hate to agree with GSXR, but if you have the money bassani really is a nice setup. I didnt realise before I ordered mine that you could remove the cats like that. If i had I would have ordered bassani instead.
