the dealer charges around $32 for an oil change... wal mart charges what, $20?

I think for $12 more you get peace of mind, better oil, better service..

George

I used to work for a dealership and trust me there is no difference between the people that do the oil changes at walmart or at the dealer. I walked in off the street with 0 experiance and I was a lube tech for Ford and recieved 0 training from them. Fortunatly I have been working on cars at this point and knew what I was doing, but I guess back yard mechanic isn't considered experiance in the big businesses eyes. and its funny because walmart wouldn't hire me because I had no experiance with oil that and I failed thier psychology exam btw the oil walmart uses is that super tech stuff unless you specifically ask for a different brand.

How about you go to Walmart....buy some good oil and a drain pan and go back home and do it yourself

+1 billion

IMO, real men change their own oil. Get an oil change at Walmart, why not just get a haircut from a blind man?

I think it would be pretty hard to screw up an oil change. Go for it and ask to see what they use.

I worked at Jiffylube back in the day and all kinds of things happen from the tech stealing your K&N for there car to charging you for work that they don't do and yes if the filter is a pain then they will just wipe it off and leave it there. Our filters are very easy to get to though. I have even seen them cut the belt and show a customer to sell the belt. The best thing to do is stand infront of the car and watch the LBT lower bay tech. That will keep him right.

at my dealer, we have no lube techs. All master techs right now. So you get a vastly experienced guy changing your oil here, if I was not in the position to do it myself I would certainly take it to my dealer
