Throw out bearing
Can anybody tell me how much work is involved in replacing the throw out bearing in 01 gt.
How much they are? and if there are really goods ones or bad ones?
thx in advance.

RE: Throw out bearing
basicly pulling your transmission. unbolt the driveshaft. unbolt the h-pipe(can be a royal pain). unhook the clutch cable.
have a jack to support the transmission, easier with a real transmission jack. unbolt the transmission, pull it back jack it down. take the clutch fork off. throw the new thowout bearing and repeat in reverse order
Dont think there is any shortcuts
I just got one from ford this time, and it was about 40 bucks. The one from spec didnt last long at all. theres a couple that are probly better mmr has one and there is another one that cant remember the name of, but starts with a t

RE: Throw out bearing
You might as well replace your clutch w/ something better, and do your rear-main seal.. The same amount of work involved...
I'm just a fan of not having to do the same work twice, especially if it's recently..

Just my .02 but I would replace the clutch and pilot bearing while your in there. Only because you already have everything apart.
Doh!! Godam you beat me to it
