Default *Tough Springs* Quick response greatly appreciated

Hey all, I am trying to replace my springs with an eibach prokit. However, I have hit a road block. I can not seem to get the old springs out. I went to autozone and got a spring compressor, the one that is like two separate clamps. Ne way try all I might, I cant get the spring out. Any and all suggestions are welcome, PLEASE help me out all. Thanks.

You should be able to get them out with the springs compressors. Try giving the axle a push down to give it a little more clearance.

Front or rear? Rear is the easiest as you just push the axle down farther as mentioned in the previous thread. The fronts can be more work. Make sure your sway bar bolt, calipers, strut bolts, and tie rod bolts are removed to give you as much flex as possible for the fronts. Usualy with a-arms, it's always a bitch pushing them down to get the original springs out, but with the compressor and pushing the a-arm down it should pop out, just watch out when it does.

Goto mustangworld hoto section and make sure you follow their steps completely, just make sure you unbolt your swing arm too cuz they forgot to mention that in it (caused me some trouble). Front ones are kinda a bitch but it shouldnt be impossible. Rear ones are a snap.

Sill question...did you take the bottom shock bolt out? You need to do that to get the axle to drop enough. I was able to get my stockers out with big pry bar while pulling down on the axle.

Thats pretty much what I did, lol.

You should be able to get the A-arm down enough where the spring will pull out. It is most likely stuck in there because its been compressed there for so long...its not because its under pressure. Its not going to FLY OUT at you, but it might pop a little.

all i did was unbolt the rear control arm and the spring dropped right out... that is of course with the axle hanging and the body on stands.
