Default aftermarket supercharger question

this may seem like a dumb question to most, but i'm skeptical. The aftermarket supercharger kits (vortech, powerdyne, procharger, etc...) have a kit for the 96-98 4.6 mustang, and a kit for the 00-04 mustang 4.6. Now the motors from 96-04 are pretty much the same, meaning the same setup. So is it possible that and 04 supercharger kit will work for my 96 gt with 4.6? the only reason I ask is that I have found a 00-04 kit alot cheeper than a 96-98 kit.

the 96-98 motors are "non pi" which means it has different heads, cams and tintake than an 00-04..so, no, the superchargers are not interchangable unless you have a pi swap

It says 96-01 COBRA. That's quite a bit different than the 4.6L SOHC.
