Default 1/4 Improvment Types

I was wondering how much of a difference it would make with 4.10's or 4.30's in a 2000 mustang gt. Thanks, Robert

depends on if you have a supercharger or not. 4.10's or 4.30's with a charger won't help. With 4.10/4.30 you shift sooner, therefore not getting the full rpms you need for the supercharger to give it's full potential. If you don't have one, then it may help as mentioned.

i would actually he rather not try.....

with some nice DR's and a good launch mixed with some nice shifting, i would say a properly driven 99-04GT with some 4.10's is capable of 13.7's instead of the 14.0-14.1 stock times equally driven

Woops, I thought he was about to change from 4:10's to 4:30's, My guess is with 4:10's and dr's you could drop maybe .5 tenths.

try? how about this.

Forced Induction engines tend to do better with a smaller gear ratio, as boost kicks in at a certain RPM, and you want to use as much boost in your power band as possible before having to shift. The best suited gears for this will probably be 3.73:1 and 3.55:1 ratios.

Want me to continue?

Just read this about gears. and then you'll know what I'm talking about. Get what is right for your car.

you make it sound like people with 4.10's and 4.30's shift at 4K or lower,,

ask nanaki, i think he's one of them that has 3.73's on a blower but wishes he wouldnt have listened to others and went with 4.10's instead

(as far as teh different blowers making a difference, im not sure, so that could be our discrepancy)

Then you should talk to nanaki who is mad that he's got 373's... and his vortech.
