I'm from IL and I got my car tuned at Sutton Ford HP and had them put on a Pro-chamber with no cats. I asked if it would be a problem with emissions and they said that yes the emissions is just a check of the codes. Doug at Sutton said he has never had anyone fail with no cats and he has sold hundreds of off road pipes. I later put on a catted-H and different cat-back because I wanted a less earth shattering sound. The car did not seem to loose any power with the cats on although I added my cooler at the same time and actually made 60 more HP.

i just took the test last week in crystal lake and readiness codes were set with o/r h-pipe and a tune and passed!

on another note, we are probably moving to oswego IL... anyway to know if they test emissions there?

they do here in downers grove, but if they don't where we are moving, I can put whatever i want on!
