regular oil can't be made any thinner than 5w30... they have to make it at minimum a synthetic BLEND to be 5w20... i asked the ford guys at my dealer and they say they take a big hit giving 5w20 oil changes at regular prices but they do it to keep people coming to the dealer.

hmm....

don't bad mouth all dealers. The dealer I work at charges $32 for an oil change, which is only about 10 bucks than anywhere else, and they have the premium sythetic blend oil plus the OEM motorcraft filter, so you can't go wrong

I can't speak for all dealers, but honestly the one I work at does GREAT work... I watch the techs do oil changes sometimes and they do top notch maintenance, and have never seen a car leave with oil on the filter???

Monkeydude, I'm sorry but I have to disagree, I think the information you were given is wrong, your saying they can refine crude into gasoline, but not 5w-20????? think about it that way

all right, i mean he has no reason to being that I work there

Maybe it costs more money to refine it down thinner?

ahh w/e... my theory... just put in the damned oil that is specified by the manufacturer or owners manual!

And at that, put in the best quality possible

end of story

Amsoil 5w-30 with Amsoil filter. Once a year. Warrantied. Cheap (as an annual cost). Super clean engine. [sm=bounceybounce.gif]
