Romeo Crown Vic Engine

RE: Romeo Crown Vic Engine
i dunno if it's true or not but i heard that if u get an engine that has been babied all its life that if u drive it hard that it will break, and the way to keep it from breaking is to rebreak it in. You do that by babying it for the forst few days, then maybe running it up to 3500 for a few days every once in ahwile, then after a week or so take it up to 4500, and then by the end of the week you should have an engine that will stay together longer because it was rebroken in and not just taken ***** to the walls immediately. I've tried that method and it seemed to work, but who knows, that might just be a bunch of bull. See the guy i bought it from buys these cars at auction, so the warranty is only for 1 month or 1000 miles, so he is probably trying to get me out of the door as cheap and quick as he can. I fully plan on putting a forged longblock in it, but that might be a year or two down the line. Thanks, Robert

RE: Romeo Crown Vic Engine
i have never heard of that idea
once an engine is broken in, it's been broken in. the only thing you can do is just gently run it if it hasn't been run for a while to allow the oil to circulate and stuff
