High Mileage 4.6s
Due to my broke *** and only having a budget of about $10,000 tops (around $8,000 is preferred) the only 99+ Mustang GTs I have been able to find have high miles. High miles meaning over 100,000. I've heard the motors last a long time and I won't be driving it very much (6,000-8,000 a year). At what point do these engines need servicing? What kidn of parts should I be expecting to have to replace with a 99+ Mustang GT in the low 100,000 miles? At what mileage is it not even worth buying one with high miles?

You should be able to find a 99 GT for 10K with under 80k miles.... I just passed up a 97 Cobra w/114k miles for $9,700. I know I coulda got it for less cause the top was gone to **** and it had very mild front end damage....

altho id reccomend against the 96-98 nPI engines (even tho i have one lol), my 1998 GT with 43k miles was $7k, and a friend got his 1998 GT with 10k miles for $10k, so the nPI v8 are much cheaper but have less hp...

Def aim for a 99+ Gt if you don't prefer the SN95's ('96-'98). The PI's ('99-'04) Have about 50 extra HP and respond a little better to mods... There's no reason why you can't pick up a 99 with miles under 100k miles for around 9-10k.

Where are you located at? The reason I ask is because Mustang prices really vary depending on where you live at..I know that around here there are a couple with 50k-70k miles for a little less than $10,000. Ya just gotta keep looking,ESPECIALLY in the newspaper and always look along the road! I bought my first Mustang after i saw it sitting in a driveway.

don't forget to keep a lookout in your local paper and car lots. Private sellers will usually get you a lower price though...
