Brakes, which ones, how much?

Brakes, which ones, how much?
My brake light has been flickering on and off...I think its time to do the brakes, but I was thinking of upgrading while I'm at it. For $195 I can get 4 cross drilled/slotted rotors and high performance ceramic brake pads all around...Don't know if this will do much since the stock brakes are pretty terrible...Or I also found for $800 the red cobra calipers, front and rear, 13 inch powerstop front and rear drilled/slotted rotors, hi performance ceramic pads, stainless steel front bake lines, and all hardware for the install...Is this a good deal for the cobra brakes? I normally see this kit with the 11.65 rear rotors, but this one comes with a bracket for 13's in the rear...Anyone find this kit cheaper? Which should I go with? Or should I look into brembo's or baer? I really don't want to spendore than $800, and I really like upgrading both fronts and back's....What is your guys' opinions?

Cobra brake upgrade is good, but expensive. Buy some powerslot, brembo and some good hawk pads. What the guy said a couple posts above, don't buy cheap **** stuff. especially when it comes to safety. Tirerack seels brake rotors and pads. Expect to pay about 200 per axle for ok rotors and prolly a lil less for good pads.

Ive got the cobra brakes on my car. I like them. Theyre not quite the huge improvement I thought they'd be, but they ARE better than stock. I should mention they are brand new (less than highway 100 miles) and probably need some kind of break in period for the pads. I got the powerslot drilled/slotted rotors and they look good. For 800 bucks thats a steal. Are you sure you get all of the parts needed for the install? Is this a whole kit or are you piecing it together?
One word of advice. skip the 13" rears. For one, the rear brakes do minimal braking so they're not necessary. Id only do them for a show car. Also, the 13" brake rotors are heavy. Why add that extra, useless weight to your car? I didnt realize how big and f'in heavy they were untill they were in my hands! The 13" brake rotor doesnt offer any more surface contact than the 11.65 but weighs more; stick with the 11.65s.
