Default MIL's advance timing?

Is it true that the mils advance your timing 10 degrees because there are no cats anymore? If so, when I use a tuner to turn of the post cat o2 sensors will it advance the timing automaticly? Thanks

Does that look like the right one for a 04 gt?

I've known folks with O/R pipes and mils, AND they had advanced their timing without issue. If the O/R pipe magically advanced the timing on top of the advances made mechanically, the engine would have grenaded. Don't believe it for a second. The mils just lie to the computer about the signal from the rear O2 sensors.

so rather they are mels or a tuner the bottom line is the sensor is off and the car will run normaly correct? And secondly turning off the post cat sensor has nothing to do with timing?

LOL... That is so BS. It doesn`t` explain how it advances the timing. It says mil`s are a must. Yeah they are, for turning off the CEL. Thats about it. It wont do anything for the timing. Its just like how they say a CAI will give you 20 more HP.

That's what we do here. When in doubt, use the search button. If you don't find an answer there, make a post and someone will point you in the right direction
