RE: 4.6 VS 5.0 Stangs
the 95 5.0 came stock with 215 hp. the least out of all the 5.0 mustangs. i would suggest that if you are gonna spent theat much money to just buy a stroker with a stronger block so that when you get frustrated about spending soooo much money on the engine you will eventually get a sc on the stronger block

RE: 4.6 VS 5.0 Stangs
the 5.4 modular is not the same block as the 4.6...ITS MASSIVE compared to the 4.6 block....its out of the question in any mustang.
Unless you can find your self an aluminum 5.4 you would be adding tons of punds to the front of your car. dont even try, only ford gt's have aluminum blocks.
yes the 5.4 has a longer stroke than the 4.6, think of it like 302vs 351. 351 has a longer stroke AND a larger block to acomidate it.
83-84 175hp (600cfm carb, aluminum intake, duel snorkel intake)
85 210hp (roller cam, holley 600cfm. true duel exoust. the carburated mustangs zenith)
86 200hp (EFI introduced, but restrictive heads and intake make for poor performace.)
87-92 225hp (Truck heads and mildly ported intake improve performance dramaticly, the rest is history)
93 205hp (no actual changes, ford changed rating system to make newer mustang look faster on paper)
94-95 215hp (lower profile intake from Thunderbird, improves pacaging, at the expense of a few ft-lbs of torqe)
96-97 215hp (96 first year of modualr 4.6, its phisicly bigger but lighter and more efficient. best of all, makes lower emissions)
98 225hp (revised exhoust)
99-04 260hp (newer P.I. heads/cams/intake/exhoust)

the 5.4 is only taller than the 4.6, not wider.

If you were to measure from the cylinder heads between the 2 circles on the pciture on the 5.4 and the 4.6 the 5.4 would be wider. Also if you were to measure from oil pan to the deck it would be taller.
