Just got an 02 gt and am trying to find out if theres any tricks to free up a couple of horses before i start adding after market parts?

Ive heard about a silencer in the intake, but thats about it, only had the car for a month and i dont know to much about them so i could really use some help.

remove the air silencer, that could get you .44654654 HP, not sure on the GTs but i know on my 6er i also lost about 4 mpg by doing it to

remove the silencer and get a K&N air filter, that is a good cheap start. total cost is about 30 bucks. that is the first thing that i did with my car, about 2-3 days after i got it.
