cool... when i get my C&C plates figured out I am debating between midpipe and shifter, and seeing as I'm still in an emissions hating county the shifter woudl be the better immediate option

what is powershifting. is it when you shift so damn fast u dont have to put the clutch in???

Powershifting is when you shift, WITH the clutch (don't try to do so without it) and never lift your foot off the gas.

I know I did not do it that often with the T-45, and 3rd gear ate the big one... twice. Now that really sucked.
how is it bad then? becaue it has a chance of redlining?
its bad cause it puts a **** load of stress on the parts and powershifting is more of a racing technique not meant for a stock transmission

Sorry if I'm stealing the thread, but does everyone here drop the clutch when trying to shift fast? It became a habit of me and I hate that really obnoxious slamming sensation I get. Feels like I'm damaging something. Am I?

not really, that's what the SPRINGS are for on the clutch disc

I do that sometimes too, usually the springs will take the load or the tires will slip a bit [8D]

Thanks Now I will feel better whenever I do it. I've been messing around with my quickshifting, and I think I like to release the clutch smoothly instead of just dropping it while going fast.

just don't take your time too much, slipping the clutch wears it out the most

the 3/8 thick metal mines made of would probably take a piece of metal or a gorilla to bend or warp
if i hadnt of ran over my stock shifter I'd take pictures of the two to show the difference in strnght
You rebuilt the stock T-45 with better parts is what you are saying?

I know the 3rd gear syncro has gotta be a POS. Thats what killed both my T-45

I will never go back, thats for sure. If the TKO goes, I am either going automatic or selling the dammed car.

they were stock style synchros but better metal... nothing too great

it was all i could afford at the moment, i am honestly gonna get a TKO or a T56 when the time comes to race

I was just playin around with the car and found I can shift well! just thought I'd get someinput... so the general consensus is if you do it right it's okay as long as you only do it while racing and not all the time
