Default ? for those with shift kit

For those people that have a shift kit in there car, when you get on it from off the line at what speed do you get that nice hard kick from the tranny shifting gears to wear the car really starts pulling? My car kicks over hard at about 40mph and really starts pulling at that speed when i mash the gas from off the line. just wondering if thats the mph that the tranny is suppose to be switching at. also thats the same time that my rpms hit the red line at the 6 mark.

Transmissions only operate off of RPM, since they're dummy machines... In fact, I'll go one step further, that Speed has NOTHING to do w/ Transmission's operation..
