I got 200 miles out of the last tank of gas! I dont know why im getting such horrible gas milage. The air filter, plugs, pcv valve, oil have all been changed. My car is a 99 automatic and has 140,000 miles on it. Engine still runs strong, ne ideas what could cause this I really need help, Ive posted before but didnt get much help. BTW my tires are always inflated properly. So any ideas would help me out alot!

why most get about 240 to 260 out of there tank,

I just about always get around 200 miles per tank, city driving, highway is a lot better, but what should I be getting? Is 200 really bad? it usually equals out to 16-18 mpg, seems ok to me for a V8 in regular traffic with stoplights ect....

foot to floor syndrome. every stang seems to get it.


on a more serious note, run a some sea foam through the intake and through the gas. also maybe a week before you change your oil you can run some through it. if you use the synthetic dont worry about running it through the oil. synthetic does a good job of cleaning the engine. do a search on seafoam on google and here. there are some articles that will help you.


and mine doesnt average much it gets about 17 mpg in the city and if its all 24 highway

im just saying how many miles do you expect to get out of a car thats been dogged most of its life. 140,00 miles and still runs strong, not smoking thats pretty good imo

Shoot dude I got less than a 100 from one tank without ever taking her on the freeway. The next tank was all freeway and it went up to 240.

i do all city driving and i get about 240. give or take some.

i did a test...if i drive like i like to drive not foot to floor syndrome but i like to accelerate hard a lot i get about 200...if i drive like i should drive in that i dont deviate over 5-10 mph over the speed limit i can get up to 250...add some good highway travel i got 300 to a tank once
