Default exhaust question?

I recently took out my mufflers and put resonators (bottles, w/e u want to call them) on my car. It has a nice sound I have to admit, but not quite loud enough in my opinion. Do u guys think I should upgrade to getting some X or H pipes? I would also like the performance boost, which I dont get from the bottles I have on now. Is there really a big power difference with X/H pipes? And lastly, If i install X/H pipes, did I waste $150 on my bottles, or will those work with ant X/H kit?

You will see somewhere between 5-10 hp with an aftermarket midpipe. If your resonators are welded in where the mufflers were, then yes, fitment will be the same to your catback system. The X pipes are good for a lil more power up top, while the H pipes give u a bit down low.. but dont really try and get the one that u think gives the most power.. its a 1-maybe 2 hp difference.. pick the one that your wallet likes and sounds the best to you.

Thanx man, which one sounds better in your opinion? I want a really deep growl sound, like an old muscle car.

Well, depends if its catted or off road. Catted X or H will sound quieter than o/r, but it also depends if you have to deal with emissions. I live in Cali, and even the CATTED H PIPE i have is illegal because my cats are approved for every other state but California. I chose catted because i liked the way it sounded with the stingers. H pipe will pretty much always be deeper than an X pipe.. x pipes are louder, more high pitched, and tend to be more raspy. I think your looking for an H Pipe. Mac makes good H pipes from what i've heard, and they are a hell of a lot cheaper than mine.. I paid $525 for mine from Ninosport.com, plus $40 for O2 extensions. If you go offroad, youll prolly pay between $75-$100 less than catted, but you will also need to buy MIL elimnators to fool your car into thinking you have cats.. either that or buy a $400 handheld tuner to permanently turn off the rear O2 sensors. The tuner can also compensate for eliminators.

EDIT: Deeep and Loud = Catted H, Deep and LOUUDDERR = O/r H

I don't have to deal with emissions. It sounds like an off road H pipe is what I need. Check out these links and tell me what you think.

Check out this link as well. Do I need these MIL eliminators, or the 02 extension harness, or both?
