I am pissed off about getting a "fix it ticket" for my borla stingers, looks like i might have to replace it..........paired with my SLP catted X pipe, what would make the most quiet set up?

well, i replied in your other thread about legalities,, but if it comes down to you HAVING to replace the catback..

your best bet is either back to stock (which you probably would hate after stingers)
and the other is probably magnaflow

I've got a Magnaflow sys, paired with a Bassani catted xpipe, and it's quiet.

dont touch sh*t untill the court date, fight that untill its blue in the face. borla stinger is 50 state carb legal, and as long as you have cats and stock manifolds no body can touch you. take the judge out to your car and show him what youve got

The state determines the legal DB limit. While the catback may be legal paired with a stock mid-pipe, it may exceed the states decibal limit with the aftermarket mid-pipe & cats.

Fight it and if it comes down to you having to replace it because of the DB level then do it, don't just replace a $700 cat-back because some cop told you it was too loud. Maybe he has really good hearing?

the only thing you can do is take it to court, and the judge will get a clerk to use a microphone to measure the sound level, and then you'll have a pissed judge on your hands cause you'll be a kazillion times louder than the legal limit. only an idiot would think borla stingers are legal anywhere that has any form of sound ordinances. it's not even close to legal, the cop probably heard you from two blocks away.

magnaflows are quiet yet still aggressive when you romp on them. I'm not so sure any catback with a xpipe is legal as far as sound ordinances are concerned, anything is loud at elevated rpms with an x pipe.

do you know any cops in your town? they can just sign the tint and exhaust ticket off without any hassle if you have a buddy in law enforcement, at least that's how it works here.

Know what chaps my ***? Motorcycles. Harley Davidson's especially. They are WAY louder than any exhaust I have ever heard (on street legal cars that is) Why do they get to wake up the damn neighborhood and people like us have to fix it? Because it's aftermarket? So if it came from the factory that way it would be ok?
