Shifting to 3rd 04 GT?
Let me start by saying I learned how to drive and took my drivers test on a stick (1980 Honda accord) , owned a 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS (stick) for five years and probably only missed a shift once or twice in over 90,000 miles AND I owned a 1998 LS1 (6 speed) trans am for two years and only missed a shift maybe once or twice in the two years I owned it...
Now this 04 GT I can not fugure out? Sometimes I can hit 3rd perfectly but, most of the time I hit a "wall" and it will not let me into 3rd at all? Is there a trick that somebody knows on shifting into 3rd with the 04 tranny? I read somewhere that you just "push straight up to go to 3rd" and that does help but, I am afraid to shift hard into 3rd because I might hit the "wall" and bend a fork or something?
I can run the car hard through the gears and as long as I allow the engine rpm to drop slightly when shifting to 3rd it shifts fine...but if I try to shift it into 3rd quickly that is when I hit the "wall"...
Any ideas?

RE: Shifting to 3rd 04 GT?
I used to have this problem with the t-45. Same thing over and over again, than finally I got used to getting it in gear and havnt missed since. 3rd gear on mustangs is different than some other cars i've driven, I think it just takes getting used to.
