Default 4.6 swap

hi, i just bought a 97 mustang gt coupe and i love it. the current engine is the 4.6 16valve SOHC and i wanted to get the 4.6 modular Mach 1 engine from fordracingparts.com and put it in. what all is involved (you can tell im new at this)? does it mount the same way to the compartment? what has to be tuned for the computer? is there anything else? thanks!

I know you would have to get a new wiring harness and a different computer. Other than that I am not sure

Does the Mach 1 crate motor come with the shaker hood set up?

Im looking into this swap too for my 99. It looks like it gets expensive unless you can get a hook up on parts/labor or if you can do the labor yourself. Youll need a new pcm, pcm to engine harness, engine harness, radiator, maf, intake, fuel pump, alternator, throttle and cruise control cables and maybe (since you're a 97) some transmission/clutch related parts, not sure though. I dont know if you're a 6 bolt flywheel. If you dont get the electrical parts and try to splice the wiring it may turn into a nightmare, especially if you're paying somebody to do it. Im inbetween this swap, building a forged short block, or just saying f it and picking up an 01 cobra (im really leaning toward the latter).

oh, and it doesnt come with the shaker assembly. As cool as it looks, its a waste of money for this swap. Just throw on a jlt cai instead.
