for me when the low fuel light comes on it means its time for me to behave and start short shifting because I don't want to run out of gas...again..

When you run low on fuel, not only the fuel pump can mess up, sometimes pump gas gets mixed with water (yes water, in mexico its not an uncommon thing to see) and since gas is heavier will stay on the bottom, so when running low on fuel you start pumping water, gas and debris to the engine and can cuase a lot of problems, not only to the fuel pump.

My low fuel lite came on about 10 miles ago... Im not gonna push my luck. Going straight to the station tommorow morning.

Whoa! This thread lives!

I've seen the needle go past the E line. I mean there was space between the needle and the E line. So it was below E!

I was getting nervous though.
