Default Hp of a ...

...Roush Stage II. I was talking to a guy today that had one. Says he kills Cobras all day long. Asked him his numbers and he said 465. Seemed a tad bit high. It is either an 05 or 06. Thanks. I promise to flame him tommorrow if its fly wheel HP, not rear wheel.

lies. BIG lies. unless he's done a TON of mods to it, he's nowhere near that mark. a stage THREE doesn't even put near that to the wheels. in fact, at least on all of their main production models, i dont think they even make ANY version putting that kinda power down. MAYBE their most powerful model, at the crank.

but a stage 2 isn't even close to their most powerful model. and if he's beating cobras, he's either not stock at all, or beating 99/01 (or earlier) cobras. i havent found a HP number for stage 2, but from what people are saying on other forums, stage 3's put down 360-390.

in fact, i just went to Roush's website. they say the stage 2 is a 300hp car. they dont say crank or wheels, but i've never seen a manufacturer claim a RWHP number for their cars. they ALWAYS do crank, so that it sounds faster. you'll have to dig deeper yourself to find more. here's the quote:

"The ROUSH Stage 2 Mustang package contains the 300 HP producing 4.6L V8 and other core components offered in the Stage 1 package, with stunning cosmetic and suspension upgrades."

Well, if you follow the Ricer's law of power gains then adding Roush body parts, rims and suspension pieces will give you 500 horsepower easily...

It would be great if we could apply Ricer Math to our bank accounts, we would all be rich.

Thanks. I went to the website also and read the specs. I just wanted to see if I was missing something. I am in Salt Lake City right now doing some work and the guy is an employee of the company I am doing some work for. Dammit I wish I had my Cobra. I would love to have ran circles around that guy. I told him I had a KB, I think he thinks it is something other than an SC.
