whining when downshifting??

RE: whining when downshifting??
I don't downshift mine often, very rarely. Brakes are for stopping, not the clutch It was more of I noticed that I can't put it in first at like 20 before slowing down coming up to a corner to turn at.
I don't think there is any play in my rear, I have the factory gears though. While I had the rear apart for my Cobra brake swap, I turned the axle and watched the driveshaft and there was no play there, but I could hear a slight metal tink come from the transmission area and could feel it when I would reverse directions turning... about the same size as my backlash feels like... That ruled out the rear for me.
