Default Manley Rods

How much horsepower would this kit be able to handle safely?

Its a VT Rotating assembly, Manley, VT Forged Crank, H-Beam Rods

How much will the I beams take? It very well may end up around 1000 hp or more, as i plan on going to hp performance for the twin turbo, so i need the bottom end built good, but if i can save money and het the h beams instead of the i's then ill do it. Thanks, Robert

Which metal? 4340 or 5140? With that much power, it pays to look at how they are hardening the rods to determine their tensile strength. You should be able to get those specs from the manufacturer of the parts. Calculating how much you need is probably a little more intense that can be reasonably explained in a forum...but, you need to know your piston speed and mass, along with the contributing mass of the crank and rod (along with the bearings, rings, and a certain amount of weight added for oil as well.

My manley forged pistons/rods are rated up to about 700hp...if you know your gonna be making 1000hp then you should be looking into some Oliver billet rods and diamond pistons. Don't cheap out on a 1000hp engine!

you need to contact jeff wightman at www.precision-autosports.com and ask him. he does my work and many others i know. they are very good. he has almost 1000 hp at the fw on an 03 cobra block with twin turbos, he will tell you everything you need. you can also read about this car on their website.
