Default Ceramic that much better?

Are ceramic headers really worth the more money than chrome?

On these modulars i have to say yes. These engines put off alot of heat so anything you can do to help underhood heat will benefit you power wise. My jett hot coated headers are almost 10 yrs old but look almost new. The coating keeps them from rusting and flaking.

YES! Period. I don't know what else to tell you. The chrome ones will last you 6 months before they look like a rusted piece of crap. Ceramic coated or go home.

From what I understand, (doing full exhaust myself soon) as long as you make sure you get a "shorty" midpipe, they ought to fit together without a problem.

Well, when I was poking around, most of the ones I saw looked something like this...Shorty Pipe They tended to say when they were shorties, so as to work with LT headers.
