I would go with a MAF sensor thats tunable(SCT), TB and Plenum, and a K and N filter. Don't worry about buying cai because imo I think your just paying for a shiny tube that probally will conduct more heat than your orginial inlet tube. After the sensor, tb + plenum, and filter. I would try to have the call dynoed tyned if money permits.
are you serious? the MAF will do squat for you and the tb/plenum and k&n will net you like 5 probably 10 max whp. and you are wasitng money by paying for a dyno tune with just a catback and tb/plenum.

thanks for the advice guys, i appreciate it. now can anyone refer me to a good website or book so that i can do a little more research on my car. some of this stuff is still a little over my head and i wanna learn. and will the tune and midpipe add noticeable power?

A chip will be piggy backed onto the computer in the passenger side kick panel. (the area on the lower right side of the passenger front seat area). If it has a chip in the physical sense then you SHOULD be able to see it. If it has just been tuned then you will not see anything except the stock comp.
is it behind a pannel that has somewhat of a 90 degree bend in it?

I dont know of any "tuner manual" that tells you what everything does. You just need to look throuh all the performance webites you can find and go to advance or pepboys and get one of those mauals on your car. It tells how to do rebuilds, replacements and everything. Good Luck
P.S. You have a '99 which means you have high compression, which means you need to go nitrous, not S/C.

Yea, the panel had a lil bend in it. It is the lowest pice of plastic befoure you ge to the carpet in the passenger comparment.

Yes, you would have to remove the panel to see if there is a chip on your comp or not.

I'd do FRPP 4.10's, Accufab 75mm t/b, C&L intake plenum, and either March or Steed underdrive pulleys.

do gears, about $150...3.73's for a 5 speed or if you plan on supercharging it in the future, 4.10's for an auto and for NA. install should be about $200. then go w/ a short throw shifter if you have a 5 speed. you will love these two mods. they were my favorite, other than my SC! if you've got an auto, do UDP's and K&N. skip the CAI. these will run you around what you are looking to spend. hope to help. have fun
