Are your headers shorties or LT's. If they are LT's, what brand?

They don't make one that will fit both stock and LT headers. If you plan on getting LT headers you need to continue to save and get the LTs + the midpipe together.

If you get the midpipe now with stock headers, you will end up wasting money because you will have to change it when you do end up getting the LTs.

So to answer your question, no. There are regular and shorty midpipes. Regular fits stock and shorty headers, shorty midpipes fit LTs.

i think SPL x pipe can be used with shorties then then brakes down for long tubes.

This was never confirmed, but I don't think that is correct. You can switch between race pipes and cats, but the actual X pipe is a "shorty" midpipe, therefore never becoming long enough for stock or shorty headers.
