Default 1996 saleen s281

i have a 96 saleen that won't fire up anymore, its been sitting in my backyard for about a year without being turned on, and the other day when i tried to start it, it wouldn't turn over, i'm thinking it could be the fuel pump because when i turn the key i cant hear it. anybody have any advice on WHAT exactly to do, my friend said the fuel pump was inside the tank, and i need to get it started so i can take it to ford and have them service it...........somebody please help!!!!!

did you check your battery and all the wires going to it. Sometimes when car's set the connections cored and you won't be able to start it.
PS. Cars are made to drive not set around. J/K

When a car sits so long the battery goes dead. Check to see if any lights come on.

well the ( turn singel) light is on so it looks like he has power. I would see if the starter froze up. You can see if the fuel pump is working just by releasing pressure on your fuel rail and then turning on the key and if it builds pressure again your pump is ok.

You can take and put a wrench on your crank and turn the engine to try to free things up but you will want to get new gas and oil in ASAP. Did you add fuel stabilizer?

do you want to sell it, i'll never let it sit around, you don't even have to service it i'll come pick it up now, sounds like the battery is dead give it a jump, idon't think his left blinker is on the flash makes light and the reflector lights up so it looks like its on

well i have power, i got a new battery and what not, its not the starter because it cranks, it just wont turn over. i really don't know anything about cars, i just know how to drive them and do minor stuff. [sm=helpout.gif] how do you release pressure from the fuel rail? if it has that little cap on it, kinda like a valve stem, i took it off and nothing comes out

if it cranks and just wont fire, get some gas teatment for it. coul have moisture in the lines and that stuff will take care of it. what you do is ad a bottle to your tank, then turn the key on/off a couple times to mix up the gas. should start no prob if thats the prob. sounds like thats it. drive that thing dude.

oh and if you cant here the fuel pump, check your fuses and check the fuel pump cutoff in the trunk. if the pump is gone, its a good 3 hour job if youve never done it before.
