Default 1996 GT tire question

Hey guys...I've got myself a 1996 GT with 17 inch rims. What size tires do you recommend? Anybody have anything that's worked for them?

245/45-17 for the front and 275/40-17 for the rear. It will look real good.

The problem I have now is the back tires hit the top of the well if I hit a bump. Will that happen with that size? Also, how hard are those to find? Are they a rare tire?

The tire size you can find at any tire shop. Not rare. Is your car lowered?
With this size, you shouldn`t have any problems with rubbing.
What size tires you have now?

I've got 275/55-17s on the back, that's what was on the car when I bought it.

And no, the car is not lowered.

Why would someone put such a tall tire on the car... It's probably throwing off your speedo as well... Getting a 245/45 series or 275/40 series won't cause any problems.

That is a taller tire.
You should be fine with the 275/40`s

Check it out here.

I have no idea what this kid was thinking. I also didn't realize it until after I bought it, but the front spoiler looked familiar...turns out I had seen it before...on a 03 COBRA!
And I wondered why my headlights were too high...

Shame on me for not checking, shame on him for being a moron.

here's the car, by the way.

Thanks for your help guys.
