Ok, Im not one to race on the road and I've said it several times that I wont do it... BUT I was on the way back to Texas from Atlanta Ga on I-20 and there was this damn G35 that kept messing around... well I floored it because there was no traffic in sight for a couple miles and I took my ride all the way to 145 mph! I thought it was suppose to shut off at 140 but it didnt. I was going up hill and thats as fast as it would go. I stayed right beside him by the way... couldnt pass and he couldnt leave me. So the question is... does the '02 GT have a safty shut off? And if so, what speed does it kick in???

That would be called a "governor" and I really thought it was more like 130.

Well I know how and when to make appropriate decisions and I think I made an accurate one at that. 130 come and gone pretty quick and it never shut off so I dont think I have one.

Well when I was looking into buying my car ford told me that the car is speed gov. to 155 but in Germany my friend and I had his to what we thought was 160 on the Autobahn. We had the needle past 150 and pegged, so I dont put much faith in the 155 gov.

thats funny... I am going to head to the autobon as soon as I s/c it and see what it does there. I think it will be fun. Well no gov is good sometimes.

145....dang you have one fast GT...I was gonna say more like 137 or something like that....If you can hit 140 and beyond i would say you have a very strong stang. Mustangs aren't electronically limited.......They just run out of steam..... The 03 cobra is limited to 155...

I wouldn't want to run those speeds in any car w/o a cage, much less in a box trying to cut through the air. I think the speedos are way off once you breach the 110 mark.

When my '02 was stock I had hit 140mph (still pulling albeit slowly...in 4th) on I-80 late at night here in Chicago. Once I installed a few 'trinkets' I blew past 152mph in 4th, & had to get off it, cuz the highway was ending, & there was a red light coming 1/4 mile down. (I was on 394). The first time I don't think I had too much left, but another few seconds I'd have hit 145mph. The 2nd top pull blew my doors off, because I had to shut down due to lack of room[8D].

I don't believe there is an electronic gov. on our cars, but there maybe, I just never hit it.

Now, I've already had it out w/a few of you all here about street racing, so theirs no use beating a dead horse. G'night.

yeah, Its fast alright. I have a few more things to do to it and Im gonna take it to the dyno and see what it says. Im sure Im not pushing three hundred yet but im getting there. Then its time to S/C.

Yes they are electronically limited..although i had mine up to 145 across a 1 1/2 mile bridge.
