Custom Fabricated Short Shifter

I was bored today and i was tinkering around with my facory shifter when i decided to do some modifications to it. The straight piece on the end of the rod where the knob goes is about 2 and a half to 3 inches long witch is length that the shifter doesnt need. My shifter knob is one of those that is held in place by set screws so i didnt need the threads so i cut it off right before the bend with my chop saw. I cut a good 2 and a half inches off of it, put it all back together and presto!!! I now have a short shifter that didnt cost me a penny and it works like a charm. Cut the travel down tremendously!!

nuttin for nuttin but I would call that a modified shifter, not a custom fabricated. Sounds good though.

Well sure it is. It is a short shifter, shorter by about 2.5 inches, lol.
