Steeda Adjustable Clutch kit Question

I bought the Steeda adjustable clutch cable, with the double hook quadrant and a firewall adjuster. As usual when I order things I received a wrong part, the wrong cable. According to the Steeda Instructions you can reuse the stock cable so I figured no biggy and I broke off the plastic piece, as the instructions said, and now I CANNOT get the cable to reach. Is their some sort of trick?
First I had the cable on the Quadrant and I couldnt get the cable even close to the fork, so I put it on the fork and I tried but couldnt get it to reach the Quadrant hook. Each time I adjusted the firewall adjuster accordingly.
Has anyone reused the stock cable with a new quadrant and firewall adjuster?
Thanks in advance.

Mine came with a cable. Did you call steeda and ask them for the cable?

RE: Steeda Adjustable Clutch kit Question

I bought the complete kit from Brenspeed, but they sent me the kit for an 83-95 Mustang 5.0, the quadrant and firewall appear to install perfectly, but the cable just wont work without alot of fabbing, and I would rather them just send me the right part. The crisis is I need to drive this car to work in the morning[:o]

RE: Steeda Adjustable Clutch kit Question

Well this morning I woke up early and got started again with daylight. I had to use a pipe-cutter to cut they protectant metal around the cable. After that I pulled the plastic shield back which gave me about 1 inch of play. Then I was able to get enough cable to reach both the quadrant and the trans fork. I got everything on and its driveable but not ideal. Since I had to fab the stock cable I cannot adjust it, but it doesnt slip anymore so it is good for me. Now about trying to get the right cable and doing it oover again. Process should have taken 20-25 minutes with the right parts.
